Google Ads
Google Ads accounts and GAQL reporting through SegmentStream's Google application. You sign in once; the developer token and refresh stay with the platform.
What the connection reaches
- Accessible customer accounts, including through a manager account
- GAQL reporting with googleAds:search, streamed for large reports
- Read only: campaign changes are outside the connection
- Status
- Built into the pipeline SDK
- Connection class
- GoogleAdsConnection
- Credential
- Google account with access to the Ads accounts
Connect Google Ads
Three steps, the same for every connection. The credential goes to the platform, never into the repository or pipeline code.
- 1
Declare it in connections/connections.py
connections/connections.py from segmentstream.connections import GoogleAdsConnection connections = ( GoogleAdsConnection(key="google_ads"),) - 2
Deploy
$ segmentstream deploy - 3
Connect
Open the connection in the console and sign in with the Google account that can see your Ads accounts, or authorise it from the terminal. Tokens are refreshed by the platform; pipeline code never sees them.
$ segmentstream connection authorize google_ads --open
Use it
Code asks for the connection by its key. The platform adds the credential on the way out.
import segmentstream as s with s.get_connection("google_ads").get_http_client() as client: response = client.post( "/customers/1234567890/googleAds:search", json={"query": "SELECT campaign.name, metrics.cost_micros FROM campaign"}, ) response.raise_for_status()Or ask your agent
“Connect Google Ads and load daily campaign cost for the last 90 days.”
