Any API with client credentials
Any API that issues a client ID and secret for server-to-server access. The platform exchanges them for short-lived tokens and renews them; neither reaches pipeline code.
What the connection reaches
- OAuth 2.0 client-credentials exchange at the provider's token URL
- Tokens renewed before they expire
- No sign-in step: configuring both values connects it
- Status
- Built into the pipeline SDK
- Connection class
- ClientCredentialsConnection
- Credential
- Client ID and client secret
Connect Any API with client credentials
Three steps, the same for every connection. The credential goes to the platform, never into the repository or pipeline code.
- 1
Declare it in connections/connections.py
connections/connections.py from segmentstream.connections import ClientCredentialsConnection connections = ( ClientCredentialsConnection( key="billing", name="Billing", provider="billing", token_url="https://auth.billing.example.com/oauth/token", apis={"v1": "https://api.billing.example.com/v1/"}, ),) - 2
Deploy
$ segmentstream deploy - 3
Connect
Paste the client ID and client secret (from the provider's developer settings) into the connection in the console, or configure it from the terminal with a hidden prompt. API-key connections need no authorisation step: once the value is set, the connection is connected.
$ segmentstream connection configure billing
Use it
Code asks for the connection by its key. The platform adds the credential on the way out.
import segmentstream as s with s.get_connection("billing").get_http_client() as client: response = client.get("/payments") response.raise_for_status()Or ask your agent
“Add our payments provider with a client ID and secret.”
